Day 120 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Borrowed a bike, thought it would be fun to ride around town. First of all, every road I tool to go north kept directly me every way but. I ended up heading south west and then south. So what I thought was east at one point was in fact not. I was so turned around. My freakin Iphone was helping either as the compass was acting like I was standing next a giant electro-magnet. Finally, I stopped and grabbed lunch only hour into my misadventure. Checked the compass and again and shit. I was going east, not north, again. Finally I was on track when i hit a T-stop. Left of right. There was no more going north. Right. I over shoot the major street I needed to get passed the highway north of the river so I back track a mile. Finally, I get on the other side of the highway, Im by the Grand Junction motor way north of town. I ride passed private property signs because Im a rebel. I find a very nice place to listen to the sounds of nature and the airport and the highway and the motorcross. Then I realized my bike has a freaking flat! Well when did that happen! No holes. I try riding with what air is left. From where I was standing it was a 2 hour walk back. No luck. I have to abandon the ride and walk it.
Oh yeah don't pee into the wind.
Walking it wasn't such bad thing because after I passed out for 4 hours I awoke to a sore disposition. A sore taint and butt crack is not something to be taken lightly. I hurt. And I'm burnt.
Glad tomorrow is a day of luxury. Sounds like something people say right before they get trapped in a horror movie. The happy chubby one goes first right?
Until tomorrow!

Day 119 - Hangover, RUN IT and Terry's Vag-atarian Lasagna
Day 119 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Hungover. Hangover. Hanged over. Hung.
Ran the show. Thats it.
Lasagna at Terri's house. Over the course of the evening, several catch phrases emerged such as--
Vag-atarian
Jesus Shit! (Well he had to right?)
Hit me!
David!!
MOM!!
Two show pussy.
All have back stories and I invite you to make up your own. Because reading them third hand isn't going to be any funnier. But trust, they are.

Day 118 - Last Music Rehearsal, MIX 104.3 Radio Interview and Run Through Times Two
Day 118 VLOG CLICK HERE!
We had our last official music rehearsal today. I irons a few things out but I'm still unsure of a few things. More independent study for me!
Two of the guys had a radio interview this morning at 7 a.m. but I opted out because there is no way I would be able to function the rest of the day. My voice is weak as it is. But after rehearsal there was another radio interview scheduled with MIX 104.3! This one was a pre-recorded one to air next week before the show. They interviewed us one at a time and we even sang a number from the show MERCURY. Someone dropped the fact that I had won Wipeout and apparently that is one of the favorite shows of the radio hosts. So they had a separate interview with me about my experience on the show.
They had a list of rules when in the recording booth. Well, really it was only one rule.

Since the show is blocked, we ran the show, applied some notes and then ran parts of it again. Tonight was the last night in the rehearsal space for tomorrow we move to the Avalon!
And after rehearsal we went out for drinks!! DRINKS!! DRIIIIIINKS!!!! Hey-zeus Christos! So much whiskey. Thank you Tharon! Is that how you spell his name?
Until tomorrow!

Day 117 - Another Promo, Dairy Queen and Blocking Complete
Day 117 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Did another promo for another club of sorts and it was well received. The audience got it so we had a blast giving it to them.
Stopped by the Dairy Queen and Jason ordered as Hank Hill from King of the Hill. Just being silly but I needed it. That character fits nicely in this town I would think. Also there was a sign spinner on the corner wearing a turtle head except it was more of a banner and he was just walking back and forth looking at his phone through the peep holes. What?
The wind was nuts today by the way!
Did some more music rehearsal to tighten a few things. I'm still having trouble on the last three songs. Getting closer but I'm still losing my part so easy. And its frustrating. I felt a well of tears build up today when we finished the stumble through because I just felt inadequate. We have one week to open. I'd like to have to notes now so I can really hone in the character but I still need more study. Now that the is blocked we'll start running again and again with props and everyone else! Still don't know how Im supposed to play the piano for one of the songs. WHAT?!

Day 116 - Rehearsal Day 3, Rotary Club and More Blocking
Day 116 VLOG CLICK HERE!
More rehearsal. Music is coming along. I'm hearing these songs while I sleep. I'm dreaming these melodies, seeing the notes while I sleep. Hopefully, my dreams will come true.
Did a promo for the Rotary Club. Again, not sure if they got it.
And more blocking rehearsal tonight. Almost finished with the show. We got through Lady of Spain. Man, that things a bear!! No real singer but it takes endurance! It's like the Waiters Gallop from Hello Dolly! We'll finish tomorrow and then it's all about fine tuning because, come Sunday, we have two days off so we need to be tip top.

Day 115 - Costume Fitting, Lions Club and Rehearsal
Day 115 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Our poster!!
Our poster!!
I sneezed so much I grew a webbed finger. Gross!
I did a fitting this morning for our costumes and the gentlemen taking case of us took our measurements, pinned the alterations and disappeared. And like magic came back with everyones costume already sewn. What?
Then we went to the Two Rivers Convention Center to perform a number for the Lions club. They were......umm....thrilled? They couldnt care less at first but when they realized it half and half serious they lightened up and enjoyed it. Care to meet the Plaids?
Left to right, Myself, John Adkison, Jason Law and Kurtis Simmons.
And we had another blocking rehearsal this morning and we knocked out This or That and Undecided. Two of my favorite numbers. Or one rather.
Back to rehearsal for more blocking and we knocked out several more pages. 35 in total. Getting closer.
Until tomorrow!

Day 114 - First Rehearsal, The Avalon and Promo Prep
Day 114 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Went to our first production in the morning and our first musical rehearsal. Made it through almost all of the songs. I need major rehearsal on my parts because I'm having the worst time hearing it.
Checked out the theater and it is a gorgeous space!! They show movies during the week and today was Red Tails. And strangely no one was in the theater.
And I burnt my dunch (lunch + dinner).
And we worked on 3 Coins in the Fountain for a promo tomorrow morning. Im tired. Going to bed.

Day 113 - Grand Junction Bound, The Monument and Hotel Hideaway
Day 113 VLOG CLICK HERE!
When you're trying to communicate through a waning food coma and exhaustion from laughing, make sure that one of you sets the appropriate time on your alarm prior to passing out. I meant arrive at 5:30am, not leave. So when I woke at 4:50am from a dream, it was a scramble to get out the door. I get there and check in at 5:58 to find the flight has been closed. WHAT?! The genius behind the counter tells me Ill "just have to take the next flight." "Are there still seats?" "Yeah but you'll have to run." I can see the gate from security and I have 30 minutes. So he books me on the next flight just to get me through security and I recheck in at the counter by the gate. I get my ticket and walk right on the play with Zone 3 boarding pass. Sorry folks who have been here for an hour but I'm boarding. Made note of a guy with really tall hair and later saw him in Phoenix during my layover. "Travis?" he says. Its Kurtis Simmons who plays Jinx. We met on Facebook a few days before and I was so tired I didnt recognize him earlier. When we landed in Grand Junction, CO we were met by our contact Juli and we eventually met the rest of the gang, John Adkison, playing Frankie, and Jason Law, playing Smudge. Kurtis and Jason have both played their respective characters before so no freaking pressure!
Oh yeah the connecting flight to Grand Junction. Wow! Tight fit!
Went a brief tour of the area including our rehearsal space, the theater and Grand Junctions own mini-grand canyon, The Monument. Absolutely breath taking.
From the north side.
And what fancy hotel would be complete without.....
Hit the grocery store. WIll have to study a little but the rest of the day I will be relaxing in my room, catching up on my shows!

Day 112 - Michael Testa, Allen Hooper and PACK!!
Day 112 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Michael Testa and Allen Hooper workshops this morning. Testa's attention to the script is amazing and how he watches and waits to see what the actor does with what is given. Allen Hooper, associate for Modern Family, has a great sense of humor which I like because, well, he casts one of the funniest shows on TV.
And I'm packing to head to the airport in 4 hours!

Day 111 - Train Wreck, Pleading Plaid and Round Rock Rehearsal
Day 111 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Our normal boot camp instructor was absent today and in her place was a train wreck of a substitute. She stuttered and wasn't clear with her instructions. When we finally got going, it was a great workout, however, I couldn't help but laugh a little at her struggle.
Plaid, my boy, Plaid. After 4-5 hours of rehearsal I just stopped. I needed a nap and a detox from the material. I played a deliciously fan fun PS3 game LOST via Domus. It's controls are terrible and the replay value is negative but for fans of the show, it's like a missing episode.
And had my final rehearsal for Round Rock since I'll be out of town for the remaining ones. Which means the next time I visit, oh, all of my scenes I'll be running the show!

Day 110 - PLAAAAiiiiiidddd, MTLA Meeting and The Hunger Games
Day 110 VLOG CLICK HERE!
More Plaid rehearsal for myself but it is honestly making me very stressed. The harmonies arent sticking and I cant figure out how to make it work. I think once I hear it in context with the other Plaids it might help solidify it. I suppose being off book for the melodies and the lyrics will be a good start. Shoot me.
MTLA meeting tonight. Anyone know a good caterer willing to donate food? Wine? Workers? Also need some great musical theater talent who is well known to bring in the crowd? Other than myself of course.
Saw The Hunger Games and it was great. The hype was bigger than the movie I think but it did capture the book very nicely. Although several key elements of the book were left out, they did a great job filling in the gaps and making it all still work. I'm stoked to start the next book.

Day 109 - Becky Silverman and The Working Actress
Day 109 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Saw Becky Silverman for the first time at a workshop and realized I already met her when I auditioned for Criminal Minds last month. It was a solid read and.....I realized I say the same thing every time. "It was good, it was great. Very generous....." Blah blah blah. It is what it is. An audition to audition. I'm hearing the same things over and over again and now I just want in that room. Badly. But I'm ready. Don't be confused that you may think I'm desperate. That will read to casting directors and producers and they will never hire anyone who is desperate. I'm just ready. Focused. Hungry.
My roommate Jonte turned me onto another blog site for an actor who prefers to keep her anonymity. She talks in specifics only when relating to subject matter but places, show titles and names out including her own. This way she is free to voice her opinion without real fear. I, on the other hand, have been trying to keep this blog as positive as possible. As every actor knows, I could rant until my fingers bled but where would that get me? My name may be a little soured should anyway come across that single blog entry. But as the same time I feel I dont put enough of my own true opinion into these blogs. Its like a diary for all to read and sometimes I am afraid at what people may think. I did have a casting director contact me and ask me to remove a certain paragraph about a conversation we had had. If I had been smart and left specifics out I could have still gotten my point across without outing this person and making myself look amateur.
What's my next step?
Oh yeah, Forever Plaid. Its like starting over with the songs. Im screwed.

Day 108 - Lost Journey, Forever Altered Plaid and Facebook Stalker
Day 108 VLOG CLICK HERE!
I've completed the LOST saga again and I'm just as heartbroken this time around as I was the first time. Still the best show ever made. You want a show that makes you think, keeps you guessing and leaves a long lasting impression. Love it or hate the last 15 minutes (I hate it) but through twisted scientific reasoning I can accept and live with it. Best show ever!
I now have to learn a new melody line for the show. It took me this long just to learn what I have so far! And Im still not finished. Luckily, I can learn the new lines with the 3 final songs. These next two weeks are going to be rough.
Facebook stalked 2 of the 3 cast mates. Couldnt find the third even though his name is quite unique. Already heard back from one so we're on our way to connecting even before we meet.

Day 107 - Lights, Plaid (Again) and Round Rock First Rehearsal
Day 107 VLOG CLICK HERE!
The lights finally came today and I think they make the scene look very professional. Not to mention, they make me look great. HA!
More plaid. Blah blah blah. Worked on the script but aaahhh I still havent finished the score!
The first rehearsal for Round Rock was tonight. Imagine the most backwards, white trash redneck with a badge. Thats my character. Yeehaw!

Day 106 - Paul Ruddy, Boring Blog and Forever Forever Plaid
Day 106 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Paul Ruddy's workshop was today. First I've met him and he was a very generous with his lecture Q and A at the beginning. Maybe he felt he had to apologize for the 405. The 405. Not to be confused with a 405. The 405. Yes The 405. He helped cast the first season of Scrubs and a dozen films for Lifetime and SyFy channel. Its the first time I've been told good job for my skills and a reader.
Yes sometimes my blog is pretty boring and I couldnt do a number things to make it more entertaining but sometimes Im out of time. To shoot, edit, type and post it takes about an hour an day and when I get home at midnight from work thats the last thing I want to do so I keep it short. I've always willing to take suggestions. I even thought about instituting a drop box of sorts of scenes you'd like to see me do, characters, voices, accents, tasks, short clip ideas. This way I can give some entertainment back as well as educate and entertain myself. Thoughts? Bueller?
And more rehearsal today for Forever Plaid. I'm almost done with the book and score. Then its crunch time and everything. If those words and notes are not in my head when we start doing blocking rehearsal I might have to get creative on how I remember what Im doing!

Day 105 - Lyndsey Baldasare Workshop, Identity Check and The Cabin in the Woods
Day 105 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Met with Lyndsey Baldasare again. She casts 90210 and she remembered my scene from Homeland from the last meeting. She also called me in a little while back for a cop role.
Stayed after class to chat a while. Among other things we discussed how she saw me in terms of character, age and other. It's important to know how one is perceived. You can't be the leading man until someone can see you as the leading man. Unless you've booked, shot and had a viewing party that shows you in that light, you have to keep being the character they perceive you to be. In other words, I need to build my image so I can change it into whatever the script requires. Easier said than done.
Saw The Cabin in the Woods. Part horror, part sci-fi, part adventure, part comedy, all fun. Worth the evening!

Day 104 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Killed it at the gym. Triceps are returning. Must get back into shape. Better shape. I have a shape. Not the one I want.
Got my issue of Entertainment Weekly with Batman and Catwoman on the cover. Super excited! But Catwoman? Skeptical.
More rehearsal for myself. 8 days and counting until time is up!

Day 103 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Learned (or tried to learn) No Not Much from Forever Plaid today. I just don't understand some of the harmonies in this song. I dont get it! I play them all together and I hear it but within the part itself, I dont get it!
LA X episode 1 season 6 of LOST. Enough said.
Stacey Taylor-Singerman tonight at Actorswest. She casts Secret Circle and Vampire Diaries. Awesome lady. Call me in!

Day 101 VLOG CLICK HERE!
An actor I met at Actorwest is doing a daily blog in their pursuit of the dream. Check it out www.thedailyactor.com. I could take some notes from this website.
Got a forwarded email from a friend I did a kickstarted video for about an audition for a short film. Contacted the writer and she said I might be a little old for it but I said Ill read anyway and we'll go from there.
And more rehearsal every second I get. It really is true. Once you know it, you can hold onto your part much easier.

Day 101 - Morning Rehearsal, M.I.A CD Workshop and Evening Rehearsal
Day 101 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Woke up and grabbed my Forever Plaid book. I didnt even really have to move because I had fallen asleep with it in my hand. Went over everything and started to learn the book too. Sent an email to the musical director just checking and to ask a question to which I already knew the answer. "How much you do want off book?" Everything of course!!
Went to a workshop for an unnamed casting director as I don't want them to be perceived a flake. If they say he 405 had them trapped I choose to believe. They just have to call me in for making me wait for an hour before canceling. It did give me a chance to chat with some of the fellow actors there. We even had a group discussion about The Hunger Games which Im anxious to finish! One person even spilled the beans about a breakup. I hope they are okay tonight.
And AILEEN ROCKS!!
Since I had extra time it was again devoted to Forever Plaid. I knocked out Moments to Remember and Crazy Bout Ya Baby. I'm really starting to dig this score!
Until tomorrow!

Day 100 - Lighting Kit, FedEx Kinko's and Rehearsal
Day 100 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Bought a lighting on Amazon today with 3 softboxes, a crane and a bag. Should be adequate for our needs at the moment with the skits and blogs.
Took me three hours to put together the Forever Plaid book and score online for Kinkos! 3 hours! I hate their website right now. But I got it done and now I have two easy to read books that can deface to my hearts content.
Also gave myself a 2 1/2 hour rehearsal tonight. I went through the opening number, 3 Coins in a Fountain and Gotta This or That/Undecided. Hopefully it will seep in my brain while I sleep.

Day 99 - Easter Double Booking, 3 Coins in a Fountain and The Blue Ranger
Day 99 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Party Creations accidentally booked two people on the same gig this morning. I was kind of relieved to tell you the truth. I gladly let the other performer take it so I could return home to have Easter brunch with Rachel, Wesam and Kanae.
It also gave me time to start working on Forever Plaid. This is going to be harder than I thought. Much harder.
I also did a birthday party on Easter. The parents had rented a video game wagon. Essentially it opens up and has 3 flat screen TV's with a different video game console hooked up to each. I was fine with this arrangement because it meant I only the attention of about 6 kids. Piece of cake. Happy Chocolate Bunny Zombie Jesus Day!

Day 98 - I'm Batman, Joseph Wisniewski and Complex Comedy 6th Anniversary
Day 98 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Did a Batman birthday party for Party Creations today. The boys name was Beckett. Sweet kid and he loves Batman!!
Ran a workshop for Joseph Wisnieski Casting Director of Easy A, Accidentally on Purpose and the pilot The Wedding Band. He seemed genuinely pleased with my talent but not necessarily my choice of scene. I did a piece from the 4th season of Seinfeld and I agree, it wasn't a bad choice, just not the best.
And Complex Comedy had their 6th anniversary show tonight. All the roommates, several friends were in attendance and I felt it was a very strong show. I'm so glad everyone came because it may be a time before we have another. Sign Language was particularly strong. Check out an old episode.
Sign Language.

Day 96 - Roommate Brainstorm, Paul Webber Workshop and American Reunion
Day 96 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Roommates had a brainstorming session today about what we can shoot. We have ideas, cameras and passion which is a good start. We came up with a list of contacts, scripts and equipment needed. We are on our way.
Ran a workshop for Paul Webber, the Director of Casting for MGM. He's very personable and kind with his feedback. Some people were very green and suggested class instead workshops for the time being. He's a great guy.
Went to the 12:01am showing of American Reunion. I saw it with Rachel and a friend from high school David Thomas (Wilder). I saw the original film with David back in 1999. It was a sweet and nostalgic return. Full circle. Anyone who is a fan of the original 3 will love this true reunion of colorful characters.

Day 95 - Well Played Auditions, Shop Talk and State Refund!
Day 95 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Had auditions for Well Played to create a new roommate for the household. Saw several able actors including my fellow real life roommate Wesam Keesh. It would only make sense to sign him on and then the show really would be art imitating life. We'll know soon enough how he did.
Afterwards Stan, the creator of Well Played, Jonte and myself had lunch and talked about the future of Well Played involving future episodes, character arcs, production and writing.
And good news! I received my state refund check today which goes right back into the hands of my insurance agent for my bike. Damn! At least I got to smell the check before it disappeared.

Day 93 - Busy Work, Staying Positive and Back in LA
Day 93 VLOG CLICK HERE!
I can across an article that resonated with me and this very blog. To summarize, it said don't do things in name of furthering your career that are merely busy work. Like this blog sometimes, it seems to be merely busy work. It takes more time to write and edit than anything I did in the name of my career during the day. I need to take greater, more efficient action per every few days because sometimes there really is nothing you can do but wait.
That leads me to another article in the same email about staying positive and maintaining that positivity. It's hard when you don't have an audition, call back or booking for some time. But staying positive is essential. Until I'm playing a bitter, washed out has been then sure! Let the negativity seep right in!
And YES we are back in LA! Hitting the ground running!

Day 92 - Aprils Fools Day, The First Floor, and The Hunger Games
Day 92 VLOG CLICK HERE!
Renovating house you need power tools. Of course I'm going to pull the ole "I cut my finger off with the power saw!" gag. And everyone came running. Rachel was the first to grab her purse to head out to door to visit the emergency room. She was also the first to shun me when I asked where the nearest April Fool's hospital was located. I was applauded for my believability and commitment. The ketchup packet I found in the dumpster came in handy.
The first floor is almost complete and ready to be transformed by new bamboo flooring. Spent the day removing the old kitchen wood, pulling loose screws and staples and sweeping everywhere. So much dust!!
And I finished Silence of the Lambs on my way back from the house. They changed the ending slightly from the book with the movie but it did play better. We stopped to pick up The Muppets on Bluray and I purchased the first installment of The Hunger Games. I've already read the first 24 pages and I'm hooked. I'm already a fan after chapter one! The movie made over $250 million this weekend so its a pretty good indication the story is something of note.
